POKERSTARS TO ADD BLACKJACK TO THE MIX

Never know what to do when taking a break from poker? That might soon no longer be a problem, as the world’s largest poker room, Pokerstars, seems to be keen on adding blackjack to its game offerings. At first, the game will only be added in Spain, but it is expected the game will be added globally soon.

An Extra Game

The news that PokerStars is adding blackjack is quite surprising, as PokerStars has so far never offered other games than poker. Blackjack does seem like a logical second game to add, as both blackjack and poker are card games and both games are extremely popular in casinos. Because blackjack is played against a dealer, it might be more straightforward than poker and thus a good way for poker players to relax.

Strategy

That does not mean no strategy is involved in playing blackjack however. Blackjack is a game that requires a good deal of strategy and thus players that think about taking up the game should prepare themselves well. Aside from that, players should also realize that the casino always has the best odds of winning at blackjack and, unlike in poker, even perfect play might not lead to winning any money.

PokerStars

PokerStars is a poker room that has been around since 2001. It started out as a small place to play with play money, but soon evolved by adding a real money option, by creating events such as the World Championship of Online Poker, by hosting live tournaments and by having the best poker client. PokerStars eventually managed to become that largest poker room worldwide and the poker room and its parent company were acquired by the Amaya Gaming Group in June 2014 for almost $5 billion.
